Yesterday, I was in Worcestershire for the annual UCECU get-together! I drove down there with Jeb, and we got to Phil & Mary’s mid afternoon – it took us about 2 and a half hours to get there, which isn’t too bad.
It’s always nice meeting up with everyone – it feels like no time’s passed at all! I got to meet Helen’s boyfriend Dave for the first time, and he seems a nice guy.
Phil and Mary live in a small village, so it’s quite rural around there, and we all went for a short walk around the village, and on our travels came across a dead rabbit, which was a bit grim, but then we arrived at some chickens and ducks which were a lot more alive!
On the way back to the house, we stopped at a garage sale on the way back, and there was a lot of tat! But surprisingly, people seemed to be buying it… thankfully none of our crowd succumbed to bad taste!
Then, once it got dark, we headed down to the local cricket club for a bonfire and fireworks! It was pretty cold, but the bonfire was kicking off so much heat that you didn’t notice!
After the display we went back to the warmth of the house to partake in our traditional re-union meal of curry for everyone… well, except me, who had fish and chips!
